Kazoku-Kan Judo Academy Three Phase Policy

This Policy is in place to protect everybody

Although we work alongside parents/carers to get the best from Students, occasionally it might be that we have to take action. We don't believe in giving up on Students, no matter the circumstances but we do take the safety of Parents/Carers/Staff and Students VERY seriously indeed. Our goal is to ensure safety is followed at all times, and that we can work with you at every step of the way.

Phase 1

A Clear verbal explanation of the action or actions that are deemed as disruptive or unsafe to staff or fellow students, and a polite clearly worded reminder of the consequences of the 3 phase Policy will be given to the Student.

Phase 2

The Student will be given a ‘Time-Out’ from the class for a maximum of 5 minutes. Quiet time will be allocated in a safe space within the setting for time to decompress and calm down before re-joining the main class.

Phase 3

Upon a third outburst of behaviour that is deemed distracting or inappropriate to the class and it's Students will result in a requested removal from the class and will not be allowed to participate in the remainder of the class for that session.

Examples of behaviour that could invoke any Phase can be seen below.

Verbal Abuse towards Staff will not be tolerated and will result in Phase 2 being carried out immediately.

Physical Actions shown towards Staff will not be tolerated and will result in Phase 2 being carried out immediately. Depending on the severity, this may go straight to Phase 3. Examples could be punching, kicking, biting, pinching, even spitting can invoke phase 2 for a calming down time out.

Always be kind with your hands, feet, and words.

Any damages to Staff items must be paid for - this includes personal items and Glasses.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation and continuing to make Kazoku-Kan Judo Academy a safe and happy environment for everyone involved.
